Privacy Policy
LyricNow · Last updated 19 July 2026
LyricNow does not collect, store, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. Audio is never recorded or saved.
Microphone
LyricNow uses the microphone for one purpose: recognizing music playing near your device. Audio is processed live to identify the song and is never written to storage, never transmitted to us, and never shared with anyone else.
The microphone is active only while the app is open and listening. It stops when you leave the app or tap the microphone button to pause. You can revoke microphone access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
Song recognition
Song identification uses Apple's ShazamKit, which is built into iOS. A short, non-reversible acoustic fingerprint of the audio is sent to Apple's music recognition service to determine what is playing. This fingerprint cannot be converted back into audio and does not contain speech or recordings. Apple's handling of this data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Lyrics
Once a song is identified, LyricNow requests its lyrics from LRCLIB (lrclib.net), a free public lyrics database. Only the song title and artist name are sent. No identifier, device information, or personal data is included in the request.
Data we collect
None. The developer receives no data from the app whatsoever — no usage statistics, no crash reports, no identifiers, no contact information.
Children
LyricNow is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
